Turning it on on iPhone

iOS only lets you switch these on in the Settings app. The menus changed with iOS 26, so both are listed.

SMS filtering

iOS 26 Settings → Apps → Messages → Unknown Senders → Message Filter

iOS 18–25 Settings → Apps → Messages → Unknown & Spam → SMS Filtering

Call blocking and identification

iOS 26 Settings → Apps → Phone → Call Blocking & Identification

Reporting junk (optional)

iOS 26 Settings → Apps → Phone → SMS/Call Reporting → JunkMute

Turning it on on Android

JunkMute asks for notification access (to hide spam SMS notifications in supported messaging apps) and the call screening role (to reject spam calls). Both can be changed in system settings.
